Endless summer in Finland!

We've made our way to Inari - 1100kms north of Helsinki and 300 km north of the Arctic Cycle. The unseasonably hot weather continues with temperatures in the high 20s each day.  Humans, huskies and reindeer are wilting!

I avoided eating "Rudolph" until today - this is not beetroot but reindeer salami....  There's plenty to choose from in local shops like moose salami, reindeer salami, sliced wild boar and sliced smoked reindeer heart.

The terrain is fairly flat, sparsely populated with birch and pine forests and deep blue lakes.

The beautiful old wooden Lutheran Church in Sodankyla was built in 1689.  It's still used for marriages and concerts.

Our group of 17 Australians are staying at Inari for the next two nights before we make our way to North Cape.  Beautiful setting of our hotel by the river that flows to the lake....
